Zemer Chai Concert, “Let Freedom Sing”
Wednesday, December 9 at 8:00pm
Zemer Chai, the Jewish Chorale of the Nation’s Capital, will host a unique December concert entitled LET FREEDOM SING: Songs of Justice & Celebration, with special guests, The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Chamber Singers.
The concert will feature songs of peace and justice, highlighting the gifts and responsibilities of our nation’s religious freedom. The choruses will share treasured choral arrangements in English, Yiddish and Ladino, with melodies from ancient times to the evocative sounds of Peter, Paul and Mary and contemporary composers.
“At this time of year, it’s good to remember how fortunate we are to live in a country that protects the rights of all communities to worship and celebrate in freedom,” said Eleanor Epstein, founding conductor of Zemer Chai. “We can’t think of better guests to join us in this concert than this acclaimed choir of young singers.”
LET FREEDOM SING will take place on Wednesday, December 9 at 8:00pm at Ohr Kodesh Synagogue located at 8300 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase, Maryland 20815. All tickets are $10 at the door, or in advance from the website www.zemerchai.org or by calling (301) 963-3462.
