Fact & Faith: A Dialogue Between Science and Religion

Sunday, November 17, 2019
4:00-5:15pm, book signing to follow

Dr. Alan Lightman, the best-selling author of Einstein’s Dreams, is a renowned theoretical physicist and internationally recognized thinker on the meaning of science for understanding ourselves. He speaks elegantly about creative and scientific processes; the role of intuition and imagination; and the wonder and fragility of human nature—what it means to be alive.

Dr. Lightman will speak on Fact and Faith: A Dialogue Between Science and Religion at Temple Emanuel on Sunday, November 17 from 4-5:15. The lecture will be free and open to the public — invite your friends and family! To make a reservation, contact the Temple office: rsvp@templeemanuelmd.org or call 301-942-2000.

Reservations received by September 23 will be entered into a raffle to win a signed copy of Three Flames or, two reserved front row seats. A book signing will follow the lecture. Copies of two of Lightman’s books, Searching for Stars on an Island in Maine (2018), and Three Flames (September 2019), are available for purchase in advance (contact the Temple office) and can be picked up at the event.

Fact and Faith is the Temple’s inaugural Isidor Bernstein Memorial Lecture.
