Sunday, April 23rd at 9:00amGuest Speaker Fred Kahn - The Holocaust Survivor who helped Spawn Modern-Day Presidential DebatesOn Sunday morning at 9am in HaMakom, join us for a special bagel brunch with Fred Kahn, who in 1956 publicly advocated for the idea of having a presidential debate on the UMD campus. Kahn’s idea took root, and in 1960, John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon squared off in the first televised presidential debates in American history.Kahn was born in 1932 to Jewish parents in Germany, just 40 days before Hitler came to power. His parents fled to Belgium to escape the Nazis. Come hear his incredible personal and professional story.
