Global Mitzvah Concert Update:
Sunday, April 29 concert to feature, "Mariachi El Rey"
We are pleased to announce that the Annual Global Mitzvah Concert will take place as scheduled. Although the Colombian band, "Gaiteros de Sanguashington", is no longer able to join us, we look forward to the musical repertoire of "Mariachi El Rey" and the variety of Latin sounds they present. The Labor Seder is organized by Jews United for Justice (JUFJ). Temple Emanuel is a co-sponsor for this event.
Each spring, the Labor Seder brings together the Jewish, activist, and labor communities to celebrate the freedom story of the Exodus and connect it to all our work together for justice here and today.
This year will be different from all other years.
This year, we remember that we've faced Pharaohs before – and won.
This year, we're turning the seder into a giant community teach-in.
At the seder we’ll eat, sing, and learn together - then split up into teams to learn a variety of crucial ways to organize for action. We’ll plug into protecting vulnerable communities, prepare to advocate for spending our tax dollars on OUR priorities, practice overcoming fear to intervene in moments of hate and violence, and more.
Children's program and childcare provided as appropriate. For childcare options contact Liz at liz@jufj.org
Refreshments (vegetarian and kosher-certified) will be served.
